Jenkins Cavaliers (Jenkins, KY) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Shelby Valley Wildcats (Pikeville, KY), 47-41 in a league bout.

With the win, Jenkins upgrades its record to 4-3 on the season. The Cavaliers travel to Pikeville (Pikeville, KY) to clash with the Panthers in a District 59 bout on Monday, January 9. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 6-3. Pikeville won 76-14 in their recent league bout against East Ridge (Lick Creek, KY)

Next up, the Wildcats clash with the Prestonsburg Blackcats (Prestonsburg, KY) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Shelby Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Blackcats go into the bout with a 5-9 record after their 52-27 non-league loss to Master's Academy (Oviedo, FL).
