The Stearns Minutemen (Millinocket, ME) basketball nipped the visiting Penquis Valley Patriots (Milo, ME), 35-30 in Saturday's league test.
The Minutemen (4-3) will now prepare for their test against Central (East Corinth, ME). The Red Devils go into the C North test with a 6-2 record. In their last test, Central was tipped by Mattanawcook (Lincoln, ME), 61-59, in a league test.
The Patriots now own a 3-5 record. They play next when they host Bangor Christian for a non-league test on Monday, January 9. Penquis Valley will encounter a Patriots squad coming off a 89-14 non-league loss to Penobscot Valley (Howland, ME). The Patriots record now stands at 0-6.
