Maine High School Basketball - Sanford knocked off by Thornton Academy

The Thornton Academy Trojans basketball team scored 55 points and held the visiting Sanford Spartans to 47 in the Trojans league triumph on Saturday.

The Trojans now sport a 9-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Portland for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 10. Thornton Academy will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 63-24 league loss to Oxford Hills (South Paris, ME). The Bulldogs record now stands at 1-5.

The Spartans (5-3) will now prepare for their contest against Bonny Eagle (Standish, ME). The Scots enter the AA South contest with a 4-4 record. In their last contest, Bonny Eagle was defeated by Gorham (Gorham, ME), 42-40, in a league contest.
