The Fernley Vaqueros (Fernley, NV) basketball nipped the host Elko Indians (Elko, NV), 52-51 in Saturday's league test.

The Vaqueros (10-2) will now prepare for their test against Churchill County (Fallon, NV). The Greenwave go into the test with a 2-4 record. In their last test, Churchill County got by Lowry (Winnemucca, NV), 38-34, in a league test.

The Indians now own a 4-1 record. They play next when they travel to Spring Creek for a test on Tuesday, January 10. Elko will encounter a Spartans squad coming off a 36-27 league win over Dayton (Dayton, NV). The Spartans record now stands at 6-3.
