Southside Christian Patriots (Waycross, GA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Gainesville Christian Community Warriors (Gainesville, FL), 42-40 in a league bout.

With the victory, Southside Christian upgrades its record to 5-2 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Brunswick Christian Academy (Brunswick, GA) to play the Eagles in a bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 7-1. Brunswick Christian Academy won 23-22 in their recent league bout against Old Plank Christian Academy (Jacksonville, FL)

Next up, the Warriors play the Oak Hall Eagles (Gainesville, FL) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Gainesville Christian Community will attempt to upgrade on its 3-3 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 1-2 record after their 71-25 non-league loss to Interlachen (Interlachen, FL).
