Union County Panthers (Blairsville, GA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Lakeview Academy Lions (Gainesville, GA), 54-38 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Union County upgrades its record to 1-3 on the season. The Panthers host Fellowship Christian (Roswell, GA) to play the Paladins in a bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Paladins go into the bout with a record of 2-7.

Next up, the Lions play the Lanier Christian Academy Lightning (Flowery Branch, GA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 12. Lakeview Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 6-6 season record. The Lightning go into the bout with a 4-1 record after their 53-37 non-league win over Georgia Force Christian (Sugar Hill, GA).
