Alexandria Valley Cubs (Alexandria, AL) supporters left the game happy Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Cherokee County Warriors (Centre, AL), 70-68 in a league match.
With the victory, Alexandria advances its record to 11-3 on the year. The Valley Cubs travel to Cleburne County (Heflin, AL) to meet the Tigers in a 4A Area 12 match on Friday, January 10. The Tigers enter the match with a record of 10-8.
The Warriors now own a 7-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host White Plains for a 4A Area 12 match on Friday, January 10. Cherokee County will encounter a Wildcats squad coming off a 84-59 league win over Cleburne County (Heflin, AL). The Wildcats record now stands at 9-13.
