The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Rector Cougars (Rector, AR) and the visiting Buffalo Island Central Mustangs (Monette, AR), observed Rector's basketball team overwhelm Buffalo Island Central by a score of 61-29.

The Cougars (7-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Cross County (Cherry Valley, AR). The Thunderbirds come into the 2A Region 3 challenge with a 3-8 record. In their last challenge, Cross County trounced Piggott (Piggott, AR), 66-52, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Mustangs battle the Manila Lions (Manila, AR) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 10. Buffalo Island Central will attempt to improve on its 4-14 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 6-10 record after their 67-51 league loss to Newport (Newport, AR).
