The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Cherokee Braves (Cherokee, NC) and the host Highlands Highlanders (Highlands, NC), observed Cherokee's basketball team knock off Highlands by a score of 75-56.

The Braves (5-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Hiwassee Dam (Murphy, NC). The Eagles come into the non-league challenge with a 6-5 record.

In their next game, the Highlanders battle the Swain County Maroon Devils (Bryson City, NC) in a 1A Smoky Mountain challenge, on Thursday, January 9. Highlands will attempt to improve on its 3-8 season record. The Maroon Devils come into the challenge with a 3-4 record after their 76-47 non-league win over Summit Charter (Cashiers, NC).
