In Tuesday's league contest, the host Cook Hornets basketball team scored a close 72-68 triumph over the Pierce County Bears.

The Hornets (3-12) will now prepare for their contest against Brooks County (Quitman, GA). The Trojans go into the non-league contest with a 2-6 record. In their last contest, Brooks County nipped Echols County (Statenville, GA), 75-51, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Bears battle the Crisp County Cougars (Cordele, GA) in a AA Region 3 contest, on Friday, January 10. Pierce County will attempt to better on its 2-9 season record. The Cougars go into the contest with a 11-4 record after their 53-46 non-league loss to Sumter County (Americus, GA).
