The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Hampton County Hurricanes (Varnville, SC) and the visiting Edisto Cougars (Cordova, SC), observed Hampton County's basketball team knock off Edisto by a score of 54-43.

The Hurricanes (10-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Lake Marion (Santee, SC). The Gators come into the AA Region 5 challenge with a 9-4 record. In their last challenge, Lake Marion prevailed over Barnwell (Barnwell, SC), 67-46, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Cougars encounter the Whale Branch Warriors (Beaufort, SC) in a AA Region 5 challenge, on Friday, January 10. Edisto will attempt to improve on its 6-6 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 4-6 record after their 80-77 league loss to Bridges Prep (Beaufort, SC).
