The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Grapeland Sandies (Grapeland, TX) and the host Leon Cougars (Jewett, TX), observed Grapeland's basketball team overwhelm Leon by a score of 80-33.

The Sandies (12-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Lovelady (Lovelady, TX). The Lions come into the 2A Region III District 20 challenge with a 7-12 record. In their last challenge, Lovelady trounced Groveton (Groveton, TX), 60-17, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Cougars encounter the Centerville Tigers (Centerville, TX) in a 2A Region III District 20 challenge, on Friday, January 10. Leon will attempt to improve on its 5-12 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 7-9 record after their 77-40 league loss to Grapeland (Grapeland, TX).
