The Shepherd Pirates basketball squad (Shepherd, TX), was crushed 77-48 in Tuesday's league battle with the host Hargrave Falcons (Huffman, TX)

With the victory, Hargrave advances its record to 20-2 on the year. The Falcons travel to Tarkington (Cleveland, TX) to meet the Longhorns in a 4A Region III District 19 battle on Friday, January 10. The Longhorns enter the battle with a record of 20-5. Tarkington won 49-44 in their recent league battle against Liberty (Liberty, TX)

The Pirates now own a 16-11 record. They put it on the line next when they host Livingston for a 4A Region III District 19 battle on Friday, January 10. Shepherd will meet a Lions squad coming off a 64-62 league win over Hardin-Jefferson (Sour Lake, TX). The Lions record now stands at 15-10.
