The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Kankakee Kays (Kankakee, IL) and the visiting Thornwood Thunderbirds (South Holland, IL), observed Kankakee's basketball team overwhelm Thornwood by a score of 81-47.

The Kays (11-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Crete-Monee (Crete, IL). The Warriors come into the Southland challenge with a 12-5 record. In their last challenge, Crete-Monee trounced Joliet Central (Joliet, IL), 47-26, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Thunderbirds battle the Thornton Wildcats (Harvey, IL) in a Southland challenge, on Friday, January 10. Thornwood will attempt to improve on its 7-9 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 4-8 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Hammond Morton (Hammond, IN).
