Mississippi High School Basketball - Leake County triumphant over Mississippi School for the Deaf

The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Leake County Gators (Walnut Grove, MS) and the host Mississippi School for the Deaf Bulldogs (Jackson, MS), observed Leake County's basketball team overwhelm Mississippi School for the Deaf by a score of 87-9.
The Gators (8-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Mount Olive (Mount Olive, MS). The Pirates come into the 1A Region 7 challenge with a 2-8 record. In their last challenge, Mount Olive trounced Stringer (Stringer, MS), 42-36, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Bulldogs encounter the West Lincoln Bears (Brookhaven, MS) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, January 9. Mississippi School for the Deaf will attempt to improve on its 2-13 season record. The Bears come into the challenge with a 10-9 record after their 63-48 league win over Wilkinson County (Woodville, MS).
