The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Mahtomedi Zephyrs (Mahtomedi, MN) and the visiting South St. Paul Packers (South St. Paul, MN), observed Mahtomedi's basketball team overcome South St. Paul by a score of 67-47.

The Zephyrs (5-6) will now prepare for their challenge against St. Thomas Academy (Mendota Heights, MN). The Cadets come into the non-league challenge with a 5-4 record. In their last challenge, St. Thomas Academy defeated North (North St. Paul, MN), 59-50, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Packers battle the Two Rivers Warriors (Mendota Heights, MN) in a AAA Section 3 challenge, on Friday, January 10. South St. Paul will attempt to improve on its 5-6 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 6-6 record after their 76-64 non-league loss to Tartan (Oakdale, MN).
