The Rains Wildcats basketball team scored 75 points and limited the visiting Mount Vernon Tigers to 28 in the Wildcats league triumph on Tuesday.

The Wildcats now have a 15-5 record. They play next when they travel to Prairiland for a 3A Region II District 12 game on Saturday, January 11. Rains will confront a Patriots team coming off a 59-35 league loss to Lone Oak (Lone Oak, TX). The Patriots record now stands at 12-13.

With the loss, Mount Vernon falls to 0-15 on the campaign. The Tigers host Winnsboro (Winnsboro, TX) to confront the Raiders in a 3A Region II District 12 game on Friday, January 10. The Raiders go into the game with a record of 6-8. Winnsboro lost 90-45 in their recent league game against Commerce (Commerce, TX)
