The Pine River-Backus Tigers basketball team scored 90 points and limited the host Kelliher/Northome Mustangs to 78 in the Tigers non-league triumph on Tuesday.
The Tigers now possess a 5-4 record. They play next when they travel to Pequot Lakes for a non-league game on Thursday, January 9. Pine River-Backus will confront a Patriots team coming off a 63-35 league win over Pierz (Pierz, MN). The Patriots record now stands at 6-1.
With the loss, Kelliher/Northome falls to 4-2 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Cass Lake-Bena (Cass Lake, MN) to confront the Panthers in a A Section 8 game on Friday, January 10. The Panthers go into the game with a record of 5-4.
