In Tuesday's league contest, the host East Central Hornets basketball team scored a close 57-50 triumph over the Canyon Cougars.

The Hornets (15-13) will now prepare for their contest against Johnson (Buda, TX). The Jaguars go into the 6A Region IV District 29 contest with a 6-14 record. In their last contest, Johnson nipped Clemens (Schertz, TX), 47-44, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Cougars battle the Judson Rockets (Converse, TX) in a 6A Region IV District 29 contest, on Friday, January 10. Canyon will attempt to better on its 15-11 season record.
