The Steers (22-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Lockney (Lockney, TX). The Longhorns come into the 2A Region I District 3 challenge with a 3-12 record. In their last challenge, Lockney was routed by Olton (Olton, TX), 54-37, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Hornets encounter the Bovina Mustangs (Bovina, TX) in a 2A Region I District 3 challenge, on Friday, January 10. Sudan will attempt to improve on its 12-6 season record. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a 5-14 record after their 54-37 league loss to Hale Center (Hale Center, TX).
