In Tuesday's league contest, the visiting Lorena Leopards basketball team scored a good 59-42 triumph over the Gatesville Hornets.

The Leopards (18-7) will now prepare for their contest against Connally (Waco, TX). The Cadets go into the 4A Region III District 23 contest with a 6-17 record. In their last contest, Connally was toppled by Robinson (Robinson, TX), 52-51, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Hornets confront the China Spring Cougars (China Spring, TX) in a 4A Region III District 23 contest, on Friday, January 10. Gatesville will attempt to better on its 12-11 season record. The Cougars go into the contest with a 14-11 record after their 90-41 league loss to La Vega (Waco, TX).
