The Smithville Tigers basketball team scored 45 points and limited the visiting Giddings Buffaloes to 27 in the Tigers league triumph on Tuesday.

The Tigers now have a 17-8 record. They play next when they host Caldwell for a 4A Region III District 22 game on Friday, January 10. Smithville will confront a Hornets team coming off a 59-19 league loss to Navasota (Navasota, TX). The Hornets record now stands at 9-13.

With the loss, Giddings falls to 3-18 on the campaign. The Buffaloes travel to La Grange (La Grange, TX) to confront the Leopards in a 4A Region III District 22 game on Friday, January 10. The Leopards go into the game with a record of 17-9. La Grange won 60-32 in their recent league game against Bellville (Bellville, TX)
