Next, the Pirates encounter the Carthage Bulldogs (Carthage, TX) in a 4A Region II District 16 test, on Friday, January 10. Pine Tree will attempt to improve on its 13-6 season record. The Bulldogs come into the test with a 14-13 record after their 58-24 league win over Cumberland Academy (Tyler, TX).

The Bulldogs (5-11) will now prepare for their test against Henderson (Henderson, TX). The Lions come into the 4A Region II District 16 test with a 9-11 record. In their last test, Henderson was knocked off by Spring Hill (Longview, TX), 36-21, in a league test.
