Mississippi High School Basketball - Laurel thwarts Wayne County

The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Laurel Golden Tornadoes (Laurel, MS) and the visiting Wayne County War Eagles (Waynesboro, MS), observed Laurel's basketball team knock off Wayne County by a score of 48-36.
The Golden Tornadoes (19-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Vancleave (Vancleave, MS). The Bulldogs come into the 5A Region 4 challenge with a 4-11 record. In their last challenge, Vancleave was knocked off by Stone (Wiggins, MS), 47-27, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the War Eagles encounter the Gautier Gators (Gautier, MS) in a 5A Region 4 challenge, on Thursday, January 9. Wayne County will attempt to improve on its 12-4 season record. The Gators come into the challenge with a 3-16 record after their 41-33 league win over East Central (Moss Point, MS).
