The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Leggett Pirates (Leggett, TX) and the visiting Spurger Pirates (Spurger, TX), observed Leggett's basketball team overwhelm Spurger by a margin of 53-27.

The Pirates (13-13) will now prepare for their challenge against Goodrich (Goodrich, TX). The Hornets come into the 1A Region IV District 28 challenge with a 8-14 record. In their last challenge, Goodrich trounced Burkeville (Burkeville, TX), 36-26, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Pirates battle the Brookeland Wildcats (Brookeland, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 28 challenge, on Friday, January 10. Spurger will attempt to better on its 3-9 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 22-4 record after their 75-16 league win over Hull-Daisetta (Daisetta, TX).
