In Tuesday's league outing, the host Mississippi School for Mathematics & Science Blue Waves soccer squad scored a tight 5-2 victory over the Philadelphia Tornadoes.

The Blue Waves (3-1) will now prepare for their outing against Vardaman (Vardaman, MS). The Rams go into the non-league outing with a 3-7 record. In their last outing, Vardaman got by Independence (Independence, MS), 7-0, in a league outing.

Next up, the Tornadoes confront the Winona Tigers (Winona, MS) in a Class 1 Region 4 outing, on Thursday, January 9. Philadelphia will attempt to improve on its 2-7 season record.
