In Tuesday's league contest, the visiting Northeastern Eagles basketball team scored a close 54-53 triumph over the Hertford County Bears.
The Eagles (1-0) will now prepare for their contest against Manteo (Manteo, NC). The Redskins go into the contest with a 6-1 record. In their last contest, Manteo nipped Currituck County (Barco, NC), 55-37, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Bears confront the First Flight Nighthawks (Kill Devil Hills, NC) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, January 9. Hertford County will attempt to better on its 4-4 season record. The Nighthawks go into the contest with a 4-1 record after their 46-32 non-league loss to Camden County (Camden, NC).
