In Tuesday's non-league test, the North Stanly Comets (New London, NC) basketball squad defeated the host Union Academy Cardinals (Monroe, NC), by a final score of 57-44.
Next, the Comets clash with the North Rowan Cavaliers (Spencer, NC) in a non-league test, on Thursday, January 9. North Stanly will attempt to upgrade on its 3-4 season record. The Cavaliers come into the test with a 6-0 record after their 75-35 non-league win over West Davidson (Lexington, NC).
The Cardinals (5-1) will now prepare for their test against Albemarle (Albemarle, NC). The Bulldogs come into the non-league test with a 6-3 record. In their last test, Albemarle overcame South Stanly (Norwood, NC), 55-50, in a non-league test.
