North Carolina High School Basketball - Rocky Mount holds off Roanoke Rapids

In Tuesday's non-league contest, the host Rocky Mount Gryphons basketball team scored a close 50-49 triumph over the Roanoke Rapids Yellowjackets.

The Gryphons (2-4) will now prepare for their contest against Franklinton (Franklinton, NC). The Red Rams go into the non-league contest with a 8-2 record. In their last contest, Franklinton was tipped by Wakefield (Raleigh, NC), 66-61, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Yellowjackets confront the Southeast Halifax Trojans (Halifax, NC) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, January 9. Roanoke Rapids will attempt to better on its 5-3 season record. The Trojans go into the contest with a 6-4 record after their 46-16 non-league win over Northampton County (Gaston, NC).
