Holy Spirit Spartans (Absecon, NJ) backers were in high spirits Sunday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Pleasantville Greyhounds (Pleasantville, NJ), 53-50 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Holy Spirit upgrades its record to 4-5 on the season. The Spartans host Middle Township (Cape May Court House, NJ) to play the Panthers in a Cape/Atlantic - United bout on Wednesday, January 11. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 5-4. Middle Township won 46-36 in their recent league bout against Ocean City (Ocean City, NJ)

Next up, the Greyhounds play the Buena Chiefs (Buena, NJ) in a Cape/Atlantic - United bout, on Monday, January 9. Pleasantville will attempt to upgrade on its 4-6 season record. The Chiefs go into the bout with a 1-7 record after their 56-27 non-league loss to Cumberland (Seabrook, NJ).
