Southwest Christian Academy Lions (Little Rock, AR) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Gospel Light Christian Lions (Hot Springs, AR), 47-39 in a league bout.

With the win, Southwest Christian Academy upgrades its record to 7-5 on the season. The Lions travel to Marion (Marion, AR) to clash with the Patriots in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 13. The Patriots go into the bout with a record of 10-2.

Next up, the Lions confront the Valley Christian River Hawks (Russellville, AR) in a Arkansas Christian challenge, on Thursday, January 11. Gospel Light Christian will attempt to improve on its 4-14 season record. The River Hawks come into the challenge with a 7-11 record after their 58-56 league win over Christian Ministries Academy (Hot Springs, AR).
