Virginia High School Basketball - Parry McCluer edges Nelson County

January 8, 2024: Buena Vista, VA 24416

The Parry McCluer Fighting Blues (Buena Vista, VA) basketball nipped the visiting Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA), 67-61 in Monday's non-league test.

The Fighting Blues (9-3) will now prepare for their test against Bath County (Hot Springs, VA). The Chargers go into the Pioneer test with a 7-6 record. In their last test, Bath County got by Riverheads (Staunton, VA), 62-59, in a non-league test.

The Governors now own a 4-6 record. They play next when they host Gretna for a Dogwood test on Friday, January 12. Nelson County will encounter a Hawks squad coming off a 72-61 non-league win over Southampton (Courtland, VA). The Hawks record now stands at 5-5.
