Porter's Chapel Academy Eagles (Vicksburg, MS) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host River Oaks Mustangs (Monroe, LA), 52-46 in a league bout.

With the win, Porter's Chapel Academy upgrades its record to 1-1 on the season. The Eagles host Hillcrest Christian (Jackson, MS) to play the Cougars in a MAIS 3A District 4 bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 13-6. Hillcrest Christian won 65-29 in their recent league bout against Prairie View Academy (Bastrop, LA)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Hillcrest Christian Cougars (Jackson, MS) in a MAIS 3A District 4 bout, on Thursday, January 11. River Oaks will attempt to upgrade on its 10-12 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 14-6 record after their 60-38 league win over Porter's Chapel Academy (Vicksburg, MS).
