With the victory, Waltrip upgrades its record to 6-8 on the campaign. The Rams travel to Austin (Houston, TX) to play the Mustangs in a 5A Region III District 19 bout on Friday, January 12. The Mustangs come into the bout with a record of 8-11. Austin won 72-70 in their recent league bout against Milby (Houston, TX)

In their next game, the Apollos meet the Northside Panthers (Houston, TX) in a 5A Region III District 19 match, on Saturday, January 13. Sharpstown will attempt to move on its 4-18 season record. The Panthers enter the match with a 7-10 record after their 53-37 league loss to Galena Park (Galena Park, TX).
