Alabama High School Basketball - Comer nips Central of Coosa County

January 8, 2024: Sylacauga, AL 35150

Comer Tigers (Sylacauga, AL) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Central of Coosa County Cougars (Rockford, AL), 37-30 in a league bout.

With the win, Comer upgrades its record to 4-5 on the season. The Tigers travel to Glencoe (Glencoe, AL) to play the Yellowjackets in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Yellowjackets go into the bout with a record of 11-7. Glencoe won 55-28 in their recent league bout against Ohatchee (Ohatchee, AL)

Next up, the Cougars play the Isabella Mustangs (Maplesville, AL) in a 2A Area 7 bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Central of Coosa County will attempt to upgrade on its 3-4 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 7-1 record after their 56-43 non-league loss to Chilton County (Clanton, AL).
