The Patrick County Cougars basketball team (Stuart, VA), was toppled 47-39 in Monday's league battle with the host Floyd County Buffaloes (Floyd, VA)

The Buffaloes now possess a 7-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Glenvar for a Three Rivers battle on Tuesday, January 9. Floyd County will confront a Highlanders team coming off a 55-14 league loss to Carroll County (Hillsville, VA). The Highlanders record now stands at 0-8.

The Cougars (8-5) will now prepare for their battle against Alleghany (Covington, VA). The Cougars come into the Three Rivers battle with a 8-3 record. In their last battle, Alleghany beat James River (Buchanan, VA), 54-20, in a league battle.
