Kinston Bulldogs (Kinston, AL) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Opp Bobcats (Opp, AL), 34-30 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Kinston upgrades its record to 14-5 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Brantley (Brantley, AL) to play the Bulldogs in a 1A Area 2 bout on Thursday, January 11. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 7-5. Brantley lost 62-61 in their recent league bout against Florala (Florala, AL)

Next up, the Bobcats play the New Brockton Gamecocks (New Brockton, AL) in a 3A Area 4 bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Opp will attempt to upgrade on its 0-14 season record. The Gamecocks come into the bout with a 9-5 record after their 59-22 league win over Daleville (Daleville, AL).
