Essex Trojans (Tappahannock, VA) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host King & Queen Central Royal Tigers (King & Queen Court House, VA), 37-11 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Essex upgrades its record to 2-0 on the season. The Trojans host Northumberland (Heathsville, VA) to play the Indians in a non-league bout on Friday, January 12. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 4-1.

Next up, the Royal Tigers play the Mathews Blue Devils (Mathews, VA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 12. King & Queen Central will attempt to upgrade on its 0-6 season record. The Blue Devils go into the bout with a 1-7 record after their 45-15 non-league loss to Rappahannock (Warsaw, VA).
