In Wednesday's league contest, the visiting Bloomsburg Panthers basketball team scored a good 64-47 triumph over the Hughesville Spartans.

The Panthers (8-3) will now prepare for their contest against Southern Columbia Area (Catawissa, PA). The Tigers go into the Heartland III contest with a 4-6 record. In their last contest, Southern Columbia Area was toppled by Mifflinburg (Mifflinburg, PA), 62-59, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Spartans confront the Loyalsock Township Lancers (Williamsport, PA) in a Heartland III contest, on Saturday, January 11. Hughesville will attempt to better on its 1-10 season record. The Lancers go into the contest with a 5-6 record after their 60-31 league loss to Warrior Run (Turbotville, PA).
