The crowd at Wednesday's league challenge between the Lecanto Panthers (Lecanto, FL) and the visiting Leesburg Yellow Jackets (Leesburg, FL), observed Lecanto's basketball team overcome Leesburg by a score of 51-42.
The Panthers (12-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Citrus (Inverness, FL). The Hurricanes come into the non-league challenge with a 1-10 record. In their last challenge, Citrus dropped by Central (Brooksville, FL), 70-51, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Yellow Jackets battle the South Sumter Raiders (Bushnell, FL) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, January 9. Leesburg will attempt to improve on its 6-6 season record. The Raiders come into the challenge with a 4-6 record after their 72-55 non-league loss to Hope Academy (Groveland, FL).
