Cranston East Thunderbolts (Cranston, RI) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting St. Andrew's Saints (Barrington, RI), 68-62 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Cranston East upgrades its record to 5-4 on the campaign. The Thunderbolts travel to La Salle Academy (Providence, RI) to play the Rams in a State Championship bout on Wednesday, January 11. The Rams come into the bout with a record of 8-1. La Salle Academy won 74-68 in their recent league bout against Portsmouth (Portsmouth, RI)

Next up, the Saints play the Bancroft Bulldogs (Worcester, MA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 23. St. Andrew's will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record.
