Valley Pirates (Sanders, AZ) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting St. Johns Redskins (St. Johns, AZ), 56-44 in a league bout.

With the win, Valley upgrades its record to 4-9 on the season. The Pirates travel to Many Farms (Many Farms, AZ) to play the Lobos in a 2A North bout on Thursday, January 12. The Lobos go into the bout with a record of 2-12. Many Farms lost 74-44 in their recent league bout against Pinon (Pinon, AZ)

Next up, the Redskins play the Round Valley Elks (Eagar, AZ) in a 2A North bout, on Wednesday, January 11. St. Johns will attempt to upgrade on its 7-8 season record. The Elks go into the bout with a 6-6 record after their 66-30 league win over Pinon (Pinon, AZ).
