Valley View Cougars (Archbald, PA) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Abington Heights Comets (Clarks Summit, PA), 51-42 in a league bout.

With the victory, Valley View upgrades its record to 3-1 on the campaign. The Cougars host West Scranton (Scranton, PA) to play the Invaders in a Lackawanna 1 bout on Thursday, January 12. The Invaders come into the bout with a record of 0-4. West Scranton lost 58-35 in their recent league bout against Scranton (Scranton, PA)

Next up, the Comets play the Delaware Valley Warriors (Milford, PA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 12. Abington Heights will attempt to upgrade on its 6-5 season record. The Warriors come into the bout with a 0-5 record after their 32-13 league loss to Honesdale (Honesdale, PA).
