Amity Regional Spartans (Woodbridge, CT) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Branford Hornets (Branford, CT), 42-24 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Amity Regional upgrades its record to 4-3 on the season. The Spartans travel to Career Magnet (New Haven, CT) to play the Panthers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 0-6. Career Magnet lost 48-27 in their recent non-league bout against Lyman Hall (Wallingford, CT)

Next up, the Hornets play the Shelton Gaels (Shelton, CT) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Branford will attempt to upgrade on its 2-6 season record. The Gaels go into the bout with a 2-7 record after their 32-28 non-league win over Wilbur Cross (New Haven, CT).
