The Lakeland Chiefs (Jermyn, PA) basketball nipped the visiting Carbondale Area Chargers (Carbondale, PA), 38-35 in Monday's league test.

The Chiefs (5-6) will now prepare for their test against Holy Cross (Dunmore, PA). The Crusaders go into the Lackawanna 3 test with a 0-5 record. In their last test, Holy Cross was tipped by Mid Valley (Throop, PA), 43-38, in a league battle.

The Chargers (1-4) will now prepare for their battle against Old Forge (Old Forge, PA). The Blue Devils come into the Lackawanna 3 test with a 4-1 record. In their last test, Old Forge was tipped by Riverside (Taylor, PA), 40-34, in a league test.
