The Pope John XXIII basketball team scored 57 points and held the visiting Chatham Cougars to 42 in the non-league triumph on Monday.
The now sport a 11-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Sparta for a Northwest Jersey - National contest on Tuesday, January 10. Pope John XXIII will battle a Spartans team coming off a 43-31 non-league win over NV - Old Tappan (Old Tappan, NJ). The Spartans record now stands at 6-1.
The Cougars (7-4) will now prepare for their contest against Morristown (Morristown, NJ). The Colonials enter the Northwest Jersey - American contest with a 4-5 record. In their last contest, Morristown ran past Morris Hills (Rockaway, NJ), 55-23, in a non-league contest.
