The Simpson Academy Cougars routed the visiting Clinton Christian Academy Warriors basketball team by a final score of 62-40 in Monday's non-league game.
In their next game, the Cougars face the East Rankin Academy Patriots (Pelahatchie, MS) in a MAIS 5A District 2 game, on Tuesday, January 10. Simpson Academy will attempt to move on its 19-4 season record. The Patriots enter the game with a 15-10 record after their 49-39 league win over Winston Academy (Louisville, MS).
With the defeat, Clinton Christian Academy moves to 3-9 on the year. The Warriors travel to Tri-County Academy (Flora, MS) to face the Rebels in a MAIS 4A District 3 game on Thursday, January 19. The Rebels enter the game with a record of 2-12.
