In Monday's non-league outing, the Poteau Pirates (Poteau, OK) basketball squad beat the host Heavener Wolves (Heavener, OK), by a margin of 44-33.
The Pirates (1-5) will now prepare for their outing against Checotah (Checotah, OK). The Wildcats go into the NOAA outing with a 1-2 record. In their last outing, Checotah was beaten by Sallisaw (Sallisaw, OK), 56-42, in a league outing.
The Wolves now own a 0-4 record. They play next when they host Talihina for a Black Diamond outing on Tuesday, January 10.
