The John Marshall Monarchs (Glen Dale, WV) basketball knocked off the visiting Weir Red Riders (Weirton, WV), 49-29 in Monday's non-league test.
The Monarchs (11-4) will now prepare for their test against Steubenville (Steubenville, OH). The Big Red go into the non-league test with a 10-3 record. In their last test, Steubenville notched a victory over Indian Creek (Wintersville, OH), 52-47, in a non-league test.
The Red Riders now own a 1-8 record. They play next when they host Madonna for a non-league test on Saturday, January 14. Weir will encounter a Blue Dons squad coming off a 50-22 non-league loss to Toronto (Toronto, OH). The Blue Dons record now stands at 2-5.
