The Our Lady of Mercy Academy Villagers (Newfield, NJ) basketball knocked off the visiting Vineland Fighting Clan (Vineland, NJ), 45-33 in Monday's league test.

The Villagers (4-3) will now prepare for their test against Ocean City (Ocean City, NJ). The Raiders go into the non-league test with a 5-2 record. In their last test, Ocean City notched a victory over Middle Township (Cape May Court House, NJ), 40-35, in a league test.

The Fighting Clan now own a 3-5 record. They play next when they travel to Mainland Regional for a non-league test on Wednesday, January 11. Vineland will encounter a Mustangs squad coming off a 53-52 non-league win over Wildwood Catholic (North Wildwood, NJ). The Mustangs record now stands at 9-2.
